The seventh edition of the Vermentino Grand Prix, the competition organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana to promote one of the territory’s most representative grape varieties, has once again concluded with great success. Not only did the event confirm the growing interest around Vermentino, but it also reinforced the denomination’s role as a key benchmark for quality white wines from the region.

The selection took place in Castiglione della Pescaia before a panel of industry experts led by Luciano Ferraro. In total, 71 labels took part in the 2026 edition, a figure that clearly reflects the strong and consistent response from local producers. Among the entries were 17 Vermentino Superiore wines, as well as numerous organic productions, further highlighting the diversity and vitality of the category.

Moreover, the Top Ten of the best Vermentino wines from the Maremma Toscana DOC was previewed at Vinitaly and is now at the center of a targeted communication campaign designed to secure dedicated coverage in both Italian and international media. The 2026 ranking includes: Belguardo Mazzei with “Belguardo V” 2022, Bruni with “Perlaia” 2024, Colli del Vento with “Frieda” 2024, La Biagiola with “Cocciopesto” 2022, Fattoria Il Casalone with “Leopoldino” 2024, Guido F. Fendi with “Burattini” 2022, Mantellassi with “Scalandrino” 2024, Podere Poggio Bestiale with “PerLelo” 2024, Rocca delle Macie with “Vigna L’Aja Bruciata” 2024, and Tenuta Casteani with “Maremmano” 2024.

As Francesco Mazzei stated, “Vermentino continues to be our most dynamic ambassador.” Therefore, the Vermentino Grand Prix confirms itself year after year as a key event for producers, professionals, and wine lovers alike. The Vermentino Grand Prix continues to stand out as a reference point for quality, visibility, and territorial identity.

lanostrastrada meets press

On Wednesday, April 29, the lanostrastrada showroom in Via Turati, Milan, hosted a day dedicated to press and industry professionals, offering the opportunity to present the philosophy and vision that bring together Tenuta del Paguro and viabizzunoagricola in a shared project centred around wine, territory, art, and conviviality.

lanostrastrada was born from the encounter between these two realities: on one side Tenuta del Paguro, a pioneering winery in the underwater aging of wines in the depths of the Adriatic Sea; on the other viabizzunoagricola, an agricultural and cultural project connected to land, light, and rural knowledge, with estates located between Romagna and Sicily. Two different experiences brought together by the same sensibility toward research, memory, and the culture of hospitality.

Mario Nanni, artistic director of the lanostrastrada project, and Gianluca Grilli, founder of Tenuta del Paguro, were both present during the event, guiding guests through the origins of the project, its philosophy, and the ongoing dialogue between aesthetics, research, and territory.

Throughout the day, guests tasted a selection of wines and explored the distinctive underwater aging method that defines Tenuta del Paguro. Since 2008, Tenuta del Paguro has been the first winery in the world to introduce underwater wine aging: a process that takes place in the depths of the Adriatic Sea, where pressure, constant temperature, sea currents, and the absence of light contribute to the wine’s evolution, creating unique characteristics.

The Milan showroom, one of the “places” of lanostrastrada, fully represents the project’s vision: a space dedicated to encounter and sharing, where light, design, and materials engage in dialogue with wine and territory, transforming tasting into a sensory experience.

The event concluded as a moment of exchange and shared storytelling, an opportunity to convey a philosophy that combines conviviality, research, and territorial identity through authentic and contemporary experiences.

Fuorisalone 2026: Design Between Matter, Art, and Perception

Fuorisalone 2026 confirmed Milan as an international platform for design, where companies and creatives shaped experiences capable of connecting matter, time, and perception. In this context, Budri and Ceramica Sant’Agostino presented projects that interpreted design as a constantly evolving language, linking research, craftsmanship, and experimentation.

Budri inaugurated “Arc_Hive” in its showroom on Foro Buonaparte, transforming the space into a museum-like path dedicated to fifteen years of collaboration with Patricia Urquiola. The company developed a reflection on the temporality of design, inviting visitors to slow down and observe the value of design research. The journey began with Macrosterias, a project that redefined the use of marble, turning it into a dynamic and narrative surface.

In addition, Budri expanded this vision through a selection of iconic works that showcased the evolution of design through the dialogue between materials. Marble, wood, resins, and glass blended together, giving rise to surfaces capable of evoking textiles, landscapes, and lightweight architectures. The installation thus took shape as a living archive, where design manifested itself as an immersive experience and a material narrative.

At the same time, Ceramica Sant’Agostino developed a dual project exploring design as a relationship between art and space. In its showroom on Corso Garibaldi, the company hosted an exhibition by artist Nando Stevoli, where matter was transformed through an experimental use of canvas. The works, characterized by three-dimensional textures and plays of light, interacted with ceramic surfaces, placing design as a process of transformation at the center.

Meanwhile, its presence at Palazzo Bovara, within “Elle Decor Sensory Landscape,” further expanded this research. The project created an immersive environment in which design activated perception and generated well-being. In this context, Ceramica Sant’Agostino’s surfaces accompanied visitors along the path and into the large bathroom hall, helping to define a sensory landscape.

During Milan Design Week 2026, Alto Adige Wines brought to the heart of the city an experience combining taste, aesthetics, and innovation. From April 20 to 26, the Alto Adige Wines Consortium renewed its collaboration with Hearst Italia for the third consecutive year, taking part in some of the most exclusive events of the design week.
In Alto Adige, wine is the result of a precise vision: producers, architects, and the territory work together to create a distinctive identity. The region’s wineries, often examples of contemporary architecture, continue to attract wine and design enthusiasts from around the world.
During Design Week, Alto Adige Wines featured in two events curated by Hearst Italia. The first was the opening party of Marie Claire Maison for the “Botanical Dreams” project, developed in collaboration with Pasticceria Cova on Via Montenapoleone. The second was the Elledecor.it Digital Hub party, hosted in the courtyard of Casa Slalom.
On both occasions, guests enjoyed a selection of Alto Adige DOC wines, including Metodo Classico sparkling wines, Gewürztraminer, Schiava, and Pinot Bianco. Each label expressed the territory, climate, and contemporary style of Alto Adige’s winemaking.
With this presence, the Consortium strengthened the connection between wine and design—two worlds that share attention to detail, research, and vision. Alto Adige Wines once again confirmed their role as ambassadors of a distinctive style, capable of telling the story of the future through quality, identity, and innovation.
