Vda Donnas DOC is the new Grosjean project
Vda Donnas DOC is the new Grosjean project. It is a wine born from the skilful care and dedication of this variety, located in the hamlet of Le Roncdevaccaz, which, it must be emphasised, is rooted in very ancient traditions, despite the difficulty of growing it due to the steepness of the surrounding mountains. In these places, centuries-old terraces, supported by walls up to 4 metres high, are able to cope with the steep slopes and support the vines in pergolas, known as topie. This is where heroic viticulture finds its highest expression. This family of vignerons, which has always been involved in the cultivation of no less than 11 grape varieties from the Aosta Valley, is proposing a new label as a symbol of a true and authentic expression of this Nebbiolo biotype. It is with great pride that we present this new project,” says Hervé, “the company has invested in the area by purchasing new plots of land and, although production is still limited, we hope to increase it in the near future. He continues: ‘Despite the very difficult conditions in which we have to work, the vine and the care we give it remain at the centre of everything: Vda Donnas represents our region and our territory in a strong and identifiable way’.
Presented in Milan the book “MAREMMA TOSCANA – A journey through people, places and tastes”
Presented to the press in Milan at the Radisson Hotel Collection Santa Sofia, the editorial project commissioned by the Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana and published by Gruppo Editoriale: “MAREMMA TOSCANA – A journey through people, places and tastes” with texts by journalist and food and wine critic Aldo Fiordelli. Aiming to enhance the territory where the wines of one of the most dynamic denominations in Tuscany are born, the Consorzio enthusiastically embraced the project, convinced that there is much to tell and discover not only for wine and food enthusiasts but also for all those in search of genuine and wild places. Among flavors – represented by 34 ambassadors of Maremman cuisine – stories, nature, memories, and the unpublished photographs by Dario Garofalo, which accompany the reader in this land with extraordinary light. A 300-page bilingual volume (English/Italian) full of suggestions, but also a practical guide that divides the Maremma Toscana into five territories – Colline Metallifere, Colline di Maremma, Costa d’Argento, Tufo, and Colline Amiatine – each further divided into micro-areas, revealing must-see places and experiences chapter by chapter through anecdotes and elegant illustrations. MAREMMA TOSCANA – A journey through people, places and tastes is available in the best bookstores in Italy, on the most important online bookshops, and at gruppoeditoriale.com.
