Two events to tell the story of Tourism in the Dominican Republic

The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic brought Santo Domingo tourism to Italy with two recently concluded events. On June 12, 2025, Milan hosted the first stop at Teatro Alcione in Piazza Vetra. The following day, Rome welcomed guests at the Hotel Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria, wrapping up the roadshow dedicated to tourism in Santo Domingo and this Caribbean island. Minister David Collado met with 200 tourism professionals and shared the achievements of the Dominican Republic. A seated dinner (a lunch in Rome) accompanied the presentation of new direct flights, combined packages, and eco-tourism projects, highlighting growing figures. In 2024, arrivals from Italy reached 104,737, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year. In the first four months of 2025, Italian travelers totaled 41,292, representing 11% of European traffic. These figures confirm the strength of Dominican tourism and justify targeted investments. The Minister also outlined training programs for local guides and the development of new domestic routes. The latest initiatives go beyond postcard-perfect beaches, including the island’s green inland areas, cultural itineraries through the Colonial Zone, and award-winning golf courses. The Ministry presented a range of opportunities and initiatives focused on sports, nature, gastronomy, and music formats to encourage year-round tourism and promote the island across all seasons. South Tyrol Reinvents Wine Tourism

A recent press tour opened South Tyrol’s doors to lifestyle and travel media, unveiling a destination where wine tourism becomes a fully immersive sensory experience. Amid majestic Alpine peaks, historic villages, and cutting-edge wineries, participants discovered the passion and innovation that define this extraordinary region. From June 16 to 18, the program offered an unforgettable journey. The base for the stay was the elegant Castel Sallegg Suites in Caldaro, the perfect starting point for fascinating explorations. Day one revealed the secrets of both historic and contemporary estates: from a light lunch at the Vineria at Castel Sallegg’s Leisenhof to visits at Pfitscher Winery in Montagna and Manincor in Caldaro. At Manincor, biodynamic vineyards showcased an exemplary model of sustainability. The day ended with a dinner at Panholzer Restaurant on Lake Caldaro—truly a temple of wine culture. Day two celebrated the harmony between nature, excellence, and the new frontiers of wine tourism. The morning began at Cantina Colterenzio in Cornaiano, a shining example of cooperation and environmental respect. But the real highlight was the Wine & Bike Collection: an exciting E-bike tour along the South Tyrolean Wine Road. This dynamic route included stops at renowned wineries such as San Michele-Appiano, Kaltern, J. Hofstätter, and Elena Walch, where guests enjoyed a delightful light lunch. In the afternoon, an “Oenological Exploration” with Cantina Kurtatsch in Cortaccia offered a unique immersion among vineyards clinging to dramatic slopes. The day concluded with a delicious dinner at Ansitz Romani in Termeno. The final stage of the tour paid tribute to Gewürztraminer, biodynamics, and South Tyrol’s incredible wine diversity. In Termeno, a thrilling hike along the Gewürztraminer Trail, led by the kellermeister of Cantina Tramin, allowed guests to experience the essence of this iconic varietal. The journey concluded at Alois Lageder Estate in Magré, a sixth-generation family winery and a pioneer in biodynamic agriculture, where a light lunch crowned a rich and meaningful experience. South Tyrol thus reaffirms itself not only as a benchmark in winemaking, but as a destination that captivates and surprises—offering authentic hospitality and breathtaking landscapes that linger in the heart.

Abruzzo unveils itself with Vinorum

From May 16 to 18, L’Aquila celebrated Abruzzo wine with Vinorum, its first edition. For three days, the historic center filled with aromas, glasses, and culture. The event shone a spotlight on the region’s wine-making excellence. Vinorum transformed Piazza Duomo and the historic cloisters into spaces for tasting, discovery, and connection. Over 30 producers presented their Abruzzo wine directly to the public. Visitors had the chance to taste iconic labels and new releases, including Montepulciano, Trebbiano, Pecorino, and Cerasuolo. Organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini d’Abruzzo, with the support of the Abruzzo Region and the City of L’Aquila, Vinorum also featured masterclasses, talks, cultural tours, and live music. A unique opportunity to dive into the identity of Abruzzo, starting with a glass. The undisputed star was Abruzzo wine — its stories, aromas, and its power to tell the tale of an authentic, generous land. Visitors walked among tasting stands, met producers, joined cultural events, and explored local traditions. The event focused on simplicity, authenticity, and a strong connection with the land. Everything revolved around Abruzzo wine and its storytelling power. Not just a drink, but an experience to live. Vinorum strengthened the bond between city and countryside, between producers and enthusiasts. L’Aquila welcomed a diverse audience: tourists, wine lovers, professionals. All shared a common thread — Abruzzo wine as a symbol of quality, culture, and landscape. The success of this first edition confirms Abruzzo’s rise as a food and wine destination. With Vinorum, Abruzzo winetakes over the city with new energy — and a clear message: the future of wine lies in the promotion of its territory.

The latest edition of Rosso Morellino 2025 was a success. Conceived by the Consorzio Tutela Morellino di Scansano, the event brought energy to the Maremma region, offering two vibrant days designed to celebrate Morellino di Scansano DOCG — an authentic expression of Sangiovese from the Tyrrhenian coast.
Producers, the media, opinion leaders and institutions came together to explore the identity, present situation and future of this important Tuscan appellation. The aim was to present a modern and engaging image of a wine that now embodies sustainability, consistency, and the capacity to connect with international audiences.
ZedComm managed the organisation and communication strategy of the event. Wine journalists, influencers and key opinion leaders were invited to participate in the event and help craft an authentic and compelling narrative for Morellino di Scansano. There was no shortage of innovation. Original Morellino-based cocktails created by the renowned bartender Julian Biondi added a creative twist to the tasting experience. A ‘bike & wine’ journey organised in collaboration with InGravel — a cycling tourism event crossing the iconic white roads of Maremma in September — offered a fresh perspective on the region, incorporating the sea as a central narrative element.
Key partners also played an important role. Porsche Firenze, Repower, TeamSystem and the Parco della Maremma added value to the event. Though they are active in diverse sectors, they all share a unified vision: to promote wine as a vital part of a larger ecosystem that includes culture, the environment, sustainable mobility and innovation. Rosso Morellino 2025 has thus confirmed itself as more than just an industry event; it is also a true laboratory for new ideas that will shape the future of Italian wine. The event provided an opportunity to present Morellino di Scansano in a more experiential way, combining territory, tourism, sustainability, and lifestyle.
