Wednesday, October 22, among the rolling hills connecting Gambellara and the Colli Berici, Cavazza Winery will open the doors of its estate for a special event dedicated to its prestigious line of red wines, “Cicogna” — a true symbol of elegance and territorial identity. The occasion will mark the official presentation of the Cicogna rebranding, a project that refreshes the line’s image without altering its tradition, further enhancing its connection to the Vicenza region and to the heritage of the Cavazza family. At the same time, the winery will also announce the introduction of a new price list exclusively dedicated to old vintages — a bold and distinctive choice that highlights the ability of Cavazza wines to evolve over time, expressing, harvest after harvest, the unique personality of the Colli Berici. To celebrate this new chapter, the day will feature a vertical tasting of seven vintages of Cicogna, led by Frasson, who will guide participants on a sensory journey through the wine’s evolution over the years. The program will begin at 10:30 AM with a welcome reception at the estate, followed at 11:00 AM by the presentation of the project together with the Cavazza family. The tasting will start at 11:45 AM, followed by a convivial lunch at 1:00 PM and a cellar visit in the early afternoon. The event will conclude around 3:00 PM. It will be a moment of connection, discovery, and sharing, designed to highlight the work and vision of a family that has passionately carried forward the culture of Vicenza wine for generations. An invitation to immerse yourself in a story of authenticity, tradition, and renewal: Cavazza and its Cicogna are ready to take flight again — higher than ever.

The first edition of ViVa Vini Valtellina, the new event dedicated to promoting wine and the Valtellina region, by the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Valtellina (Valtellina Wine Protection Consortium) together with Strada del Vino (Wine Route) and Fondazione Provinea (Provinea Foundation), ended with excellent results. During the event, Sondrio welcomed around 1,500 visitors, 80% of whom came from outside the province. There were also numerous international visitors, particularly from Switzerland, Germany, France and Sweden, confirming the growing appeal of Valtellina as a tourist and food and wine destination. Excellent feedback was received from trade, journalists and wine lovers, that have appreciated and tasted the many facets of Nebbiolo, the true star of this region.The event showcased the natural and architectural heritage that makes Sondrio a unique destination in the heart of the Alps: from the festival in the shadow of the bell tower in Piazza Campello to tastings, trekking, e-bike tours and cultural walks in the historic centre. Valtellina and its territory are a natural stage for a story rich in history and charm which, thanks to the efforts of the Protection Consortium and its partners, tells the story of its principal grape variety, Nebbiolo: the soul of the valley, which finds its highest expression here.

Demeter Italia talks about biodynamics

Demeter Italia, a certification body for biodynamic agriculture, organized a three-day press tour to demonstrate the value of this agricultural method through hands-on experiences. Conceived and managed by ZedComm, the tour involved Italian and international journalists and aimed to promote Demeter Italia as a point of reference for those who choose sustainable, ethical, and regenerative agriculture. The trip began on July 15 in Rome with a press conference at the Foreign Press Association. During the meeting, the journalists discussed the strategic role of certified agritourism farms in promoting the Demeter Italia brand throughout the country. Then, the delegation traveled to Palazzo Tronconi, a biodynamic winery and agritourism farm in the province of Frosinone. There, participants enjoyed an immersive hospitality experience and gained firsthand knowledge of the principles and philosophy of biodynamics. On the second day, the tour stopped in Marzabotto, Bologna, at the “Al di là del Fiume” farm (Beyond the River).This moment highlighted the importance of the link between agriculture and social inclusion. Journalists explored how Demeter Italia promotes projects that intertwine agriculture, education, and hospitality, creating value for the territory and its people. The final stop took place in Milan, where a conference dedicated to young people in agriculture was held. Students, emerging farmers, and biodynamic community representatives discussed the future, sustainability, and innovation. This dialogue reflects Demeter Italia’s commitment to supporting the younger generation.
