On 12 April, Safilens, Italy’s leading company in the contact lens sector, coordinated the presentation, held at the Auditorium of the Fondazione Banca degli Occhi del Veneto ETS in Mestre, of the TYMP study focusing on the efficacy of a tyrosine-releasing contact lens in the management of myopic progression in young people. A study conducted by Dr. Antonio Frattolillo at the U.O.C. Ophthalmology Unit of the Ospedale dell’Angelo – Azienda ULSS3 Serenissima, Venezia Mestre. The study, the first of its kind in Italy, is characterised at national and European level by the composition of the subjects involved and the statistical power of the protocol. Speakers at the presentation conference included nationally and internationally renowned specialists. The presentation was attended by a group of selected journalists from the trade press and the health pages of the main lifestyle publications.
Zedcomm, in addition to taking care of the Safilens press office, handled the total organisation of the conference, the incoming of journalists, the organisation of leisure activities – visit to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, aperitif and dinner at Alajmo’s Quadrino in Piazza San Marco – the accommodation of non-sector guests and logistics.

A double anniversary for Lungarotti: on 23rd April 2024 the historic Umbrian winery celebrated with a group of journalists the 50th anniversary of the Torgiano Wine Museum and the 60th anniversary of Rubesco Riserva Vigna Monticchio, its flagship wine. Two intense days of vertical tastings of Vigna Monticchio wines, visits to the Torgiano Wine Museum, described by the New York Times as “the most beautiful in Italy”, but above all moments of celebration. In fact, the 23rd of April is the night of San Giorgio in Torgiano, a celebration with ancient origins, characterised by traditional bonfires in the vineyards. A very evocative ceremony that testifies to the deep bond between the local community and viticulture, between the sacred and the profane. It is no coincidence that this date was chosen 50 years ago for the inauguration of the Wine Museum. On the evening of 23 April, the Compagnia dei Tavernieri e Vignaioli di Torgiano lit a huge bonfire in the cellar square, amidst music, dancing and many toasts with Lungarotti wines. The next day, the group of journalists set off to discover some of the finest examples of Perugia’s artistic craftsmanship, such as the stained-glass windows of the Moretti Caselli studio or the fabrics of the Atelier Giuditta Brozzetti museum, housed in an old church, one of the last hand-weaving workshops in Italy, where it is possible to admire ancient looms dating from the 18th century. Two workshops that have survived thanks to the stubborn will of two young women who decided to carry on the family tradition.

During Milan Design Week – which took place from April 15th to 21st alongside the Salone del Mobile and with numerous initiatives spread throughout the city – the wines of Alto Adige made their debut for the first time with the aim of meeting the large international audience revolving around the world of furniture, art, and architecture. The fresh white wines, elegant red wines, and sparkling wines from Alto Adige were the protagonists of the events organized for the occasion by the prestigious publishing house Hearst Italia. The Alto Adige wines were the wine partners of the Elle Decor Material Home exhibition in Milan, held at Palazzo Bovara, and were featured in the opening day and special vernissage by invitation on Friday evening, one of the most anticipated events of the entire week, which saw great participation from the selected audience; some Alto Adige labels also delighted guests at the event organized by Marie Claire Maison at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna, GAM within Villa Reale di Via Palestro, to present the project “La Casa dell’Architetto”. The connection between design and wine has proven successful; after all, in Alto Adige, it is very strong, and the region is famous not only for the quality of its wines but also for the architectural projects – which increasingly often show a harmonious blend of different styles – of many Estates and Wineries, attracting visitors from all over the world.
