Discovering the new Geodies collection

Discovering the new Geodies collection. Enjoying a coffee, two pastries, and a juice while chatting with journalists from prestigious design magazines is the perfect way to start the day, especially when waiting for the busiest week of the year: Milan Design Week! A breakfast event was held at the Foro Bonaparte showroom to preview the new Geodies collection designed by Patricia Urquiola for Budri. The collection will be presented at the upcoming international kermesse in Milan in April. Geodies is a collection that showcases the evolution of stone, from its natural state to its processed form. The use of geodes and quartz in the collection is a result of careful observation. It is remarkable how geometrically perfect shapes can emerge from rocks or mineral boulders that are deformed and porous at their base. These shapes, such as parallelepipeds and cusps, are highly resistant to chemical degradation, weathering, and water erosion, allowing them to remain intact for millennia. Vermentino Grand Prix 2024: top ten unveiled!

The fifth edition of the competition, organized by the Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana, took place at the Hotel Miramare in Castiglione della Pescaia on April 8th. For years, the consortium has been committed to enhancing the potential of this grape variety. The jury, led by Vice Director of Corriere della Sera Luciano Ferraro, comprised representatives from starred restaurants in Maremma, owners of wine shops, delegates from associations, and industry experts. There were 73 wines to evaluate, including special types such as those aged in egg-shaped containers, concrete, amphorae, terracotta, or wood, and wines labeled as “Superiore.”  The winners of a place in the “Top Ten” 2024 of Vermentino Maremma Toscana DOC, listed alphabetically by company, are: CASTELPRILE, PRELIUS 2023 – COLLEMASSARI, MELACCE 2023 – GUIDO F.FENDI, CHICCA 2022 – PODERE CIRENE, CIRENE 2023 – PODERE POGGIO BESTIALE, LÉPIDO 2023 – POGGIO LEVANTE, UNNÉ 2020 – ROCCA DELLE MACIE, CAMPO MACCIONE 2023 – TENUTE BRUNI, UPUPA 2022 – TERRE DELL’ETRURIA, MARMATO 2023 – VAL DELLE ROSE, COBALTO 2021 VERMENTINO SUPERIORE. The project and the wines were presented for tasting at Vinitaly and will be the focus of a special communication campaign throughout the year.

Cleto Munari’s eyewear collection premiered at Mondelliani shop

On 21 September at Mondelliani in Via dei Prefetti 11 in Rome, the international preview presentation of Cleto Munari’s eyewear collection took place at the presence of the artist. Passionate about eyewear, design accessories and art since 1961, the ‘Mondelliani’ have distinguished themselves over the years for their scrupulous and futuristic research work by travelling around the world to find the most extraordinary models, becoming a point of reference for innovative and unconventional designs.In his 50 years of artistic production, Cleto Munari once again chooses to express his creativity in a different sphere, creating a collection of signature objects poised between art and design. Concave and convex, empty and full. Each shape is a stratification of Cleto Munari’s artistic and intellectual experiences. The collection consists of 13 models. Colour is an indispensable part of the compositional game: it cleverly reveals the playful aspect of the collection. “Colour is much more than a ‘verb’ for me: it is essence like form,” Cleto Munari declares.

Axolight and Villa Bogdano at Furisalone 2022

On the occasion of the Fuorisalone, which involves the whole of Milan  during the most important international design furniture fair, an interesting design&wine partnership took place. Axolight, the Made in Italy design brand that has made interior lighting a style icon recognized all over the world, has chosen Villa Bogdano 1880 wines to toast to the novelties presented.

Axolight guests – welcomed in the Showroom in Corso Monforte 16 – were able to view the new collection designed by Timo Ripatti, tasting the Brut Nature Millesimato DOC of the historic company from Lison di Portogruaro (VE). A sparkling wine with a very low sugar content, with a fine and elegant perlage, which comes from a careful and timely processing to best develop the typical aromas of the grape variety and the clay-rich soil.
