“OLTREPÒ – TERRA DI PINOT NERO: UN TERRITORIO, UN VITIGNO, DUE ECCELLENZE”. THIRD EDITION.

The “Oltrepò – Terra di Pinot Nero” event was held on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the Tenuta Pegazzera estate in Casteggio, in the province of Pavia. 34 wineries took part in the exhibition – now in its third edition and well known in the area – and had the opportunity to have their wines tasted by an audience of journalists and trade operators, in the context of a historic 18th-century villa in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese.


BRIEF

The event was strongly desired by a group of virtuous wineries to enhance the excellence of Pinot Noir from Oltrepò Pavese, from the bubbly “Metodo Classico” with the finest perlage, to the elegant Pinot Nerovinified in red. Sponsored and organized with the support of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Oltrepò Pavese, the initiative aimed at enhancing the territory, its two appellations – Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG and Pinot Nero dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC – and its producers, as well as attracting the Italian and international press on the one hand, and “commercial” representatives of the wine world on the other: sommeliers, restaurateurs, agents, wine merchants, distributors, and wine industry representatives.

 


ACTIVITIES
The initiative was held on Monday, a perfect for “trade” representatives and was entirely dedicated to Pinot Nero and its dual soul. All day long, there was a walk around tasting with free tasting stations for 34 producers. In the morning there was the inauguration of the event, with the ribbon cutting by the President of the Consorzio Gilda Fugazza, the Director Carlo Veronese and authorities. There were then two masterclasses, led by two expert communicators in the world of wine, respectively Jacopo Cossater for the first one dedicated to Oltrepò Pavese Metodo Classico DOCG and Filippo Bartolotta for the second one, on Pinot Nero dell’Oltrepò Pavese DOC, vinified in red. A light lunch was also planned for guests, with typical products of Oltrepò Pavese cuisine

OUTCOMES

The event was attended by more than 270 guests, who were able to taste more than 100 labels from the exhibiting wineries: about 70 journalists, bloggers and communicators, and more than 200  “trade” representatives from the wine sector. The initiative was also important in terms of visibility and brand awareness thanks to the press that reported on it in newspapers, magazines, blogs and social channels.
